Seven suspected drug personalities, including a high-value individual, were arrested while nearly P1 million worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in a series of anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) from July 31 to Aug. 2.
The BCPO said the successive buy-bust operations resulted in the arrest of one high-value individual (HVI) and six street-level individuals (SLIs), with authorities recovering about 143.5 grams of suspected shabu worth an estimated P972,600.
The first operation was conducted at about 3:41 p.m. on July 31 in Purok Candelaria, Brgy. Sum-ag, where operatives of Police Station 9 arrested a 35-year-old street-level drug suspect.
Police seized about six grams of suspected shabu worth P40,800 and a .38 caliber revolver loaded with two live rounds of ammunition.
The suspect is facing charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Later that day, at around 6:39 p.m., Police Station 8 arrested a 39-year-old high-value individual during a buy-bust operation in Purok 4, Magsungay, Brgy. Singcang-Airport.
Authorities confiscated about 55 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street drug price of P374,000, along with other pieces of evidence.
At about 9:46 p.m., operatives of Police Station 2 arrested two street-level drug suspects, a 44-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man, during another buy-bust operation along Gatuslao Street in Brgy. 8.
Police recovered about 28 grams of suspected shabu valued at P190,400.
On Aug. 1, Police Station 3 arrested a 20-year-old street-level individual in Purok Langis, Brgy. Banago.
Authorities seized about 10 grams of suspected shabu worth P68,000.
Later that day, at around 5:23 p.m., operatives of Police Station 6, in coordination with the BCPO City Intelligence Unit, arrested another 40-year-old street-level suspect during a buy-bust operation in Purok Planeta, Brgy. Taculing.
Recovered from the suspect were about seven grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P47,600.
Meanwhile, at about 1:37 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, Police Station 10 personnel, also with the assistance of the City Intelligence Unit, arrested a 22-year-old street-level suspect in Purok Totong 4, Brgy. Felisa.
Police confiscated about 3.5 grams of suspected shabu valued at P23,800.
All arrested suspects are under police custody while appropriate charges are being prepared.
The confiscated suspected illegal drugs will undergo laboratory examination in accordance with existing procedures.
BCPO Director Col. Eugene N. Rebadomia commended the operating units for the successful operations, saying the accomplishments reflect the city’s continuing intelligence-driven campaign against illegal drugs.
He said the BCPO remains committed to dismantling illegal drug networks, strengthening partnerships with communities and other agencies, and sustaining aggressive anti-drug operations to help keep Bacolod City safe.*
