5 nabbed in Bacolod drug den raid; P340K shabu seized in Sibulan

Anti-drug operatives dismantled a drug den in Bacolod City and arrested a high-value target in Sibulan, Negros Oriental, in separate buy-bust operations on Thursday, Sept. 25.

In Bacolod, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-NIR, together with police and Coast Guard units, raided a drug den at Purok Tahong, Brgy. 2.

Five suspects were arrested, including alias “Celber,” 43, and alias “Peter,” 43. of Brgy 2.

Also nabbed were alias “Christian,” 25, of Brgy. Bata; alias “Felix,” 25, of Kabankalan City; and alias “Edmer,” 30, of Silay City.

Sixteen sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 16 grams were confiscated along with buy-bust money, improvised glass tooters, lighters, cash, scissors, and a cellphone.

Meanwhile, in Sibulan, a coordinated buy-bust operation at Purok Mauswagon, Brgy. Looc, led to the arrest of a high-value individual.

Authorities seized about 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at P340,000. Police also recovered an improvised sealer, a cellphone, a belt bag, a Suzuki Raider motorcycle, and buy-bust money.

The suspect was apprised of his rights, with the operation documented through body-worn cameras.

All of the arrested now face charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
