“2.2 billion people in the world globally do not have access to safe water at home. In the Philippines, nearly 5 million rely on unsafe water sources, in the province of the 3 million Negrenses, 25 percent have no access to water supply and 80 percent have no access to sanitation services. With these figures it is a pity to know that while the entire world has made leaps in terms of modernization and technology a very basi need such as water remains a privelege for some,” suno kay Lacson.

“We recently celebrated the World Environment Day, and the corresponding call for radical action for planetary health that should not be lost on us as we launch the provincial integrated water security program today, the challenge really is for us to continue instituting the necessary forms and investment in providing and improving water governance in Negros Occidental,” suno kay Benitez.
