Two Negrenses were killed in Isabela and Cauayan towns in Negros Occidental on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1 and 2.
Lambrito Sarimong, 56, was stabbed dead by his nephew, Mansueto, 39, in Sitio Ema, Brgy. Camangcamang, Isabela, Negros Occidental, at about 10 p.m. Friday, the police reported.
A police investigation report revealed that the victim and the suspect had a heated argument. When the uncle decided to go home, he was waylaid by his nephew and stabbed on different parts of the body, the police report said.
The victim was rushed to the Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Memorial District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival while the suspect fled.
The police conducted a pursuit operation and arrested the suspect who is now detained at the Isabela Police Station.
IN CAUAYAN
Meanwhile, a man was shot dead after he attempted to confront the suspect in Sitio Cuyapan, Purok 5, Brgy. Masaling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, on Saturday.
Killed was a 37-year-old man of Purok 5, whose name was withheld by the police, who was shot with a homemade firearm by a 30-year-old farmer.
The victim and his brothers went to the house of the suspect to confront him, the police said.
However, the suspect was armed with a homemade firearm and shot the victim, while his brothers ran and called for help.
The victim was brought to the Cauayan District Hospital where he was declared dead, while the suspect was arrested by a barangay kagawad and turned over to the Cauayan police.*
