2 dead bodies found in Talisay bringing total to five in August

The number of dead bodies found in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, this month has risen to five, after two more were discovered on Friday evening, August 29.

The two bodies were found at a grassy section of the parking area of First Farmers Holding Corporation in Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, at 6 p.m. Friday, the police reported.

The victims’ bodies were in an advanced state of decomposition, with their faces already unrecognizable, Lt. Ramon Juavlar, Talisay deputy police chief, said.

One body was male, while they were still determining the gender of the other one, he said.

They may have been dead for a week, and so far, there have been no missing persons reported in Talisay City, he added.

Bembem Guinanao, 45, of Barangay Dos Hermanas, was informed by children in the area that they had discovered lifeless human bodies at the vacant grassy portion of the parking area. She immediately went to verify and, upon confirmation, promptly reported the matter to the Talisay Police Station.

One of the dead persons was wearing a black shirt, denim shorts, and Lacoste-brand underwear, while the other was wearing denim shorts without an upper garment, the police said.

An investigation is underway to establish the identities of the victims.

Earlier this month, the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) formed a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) to lead a coordinated probe after three dead bodies were discovered in Talisay City.

Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas C. Ibay, PRO-NIR director, said the discovery of the three bodies was “deeply concerning” and he vowed a thorough, methodical, and coordinated investigation.

One of the victims was identified as Mars Relles, 48, of Villa Soledad, Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City.*
