About 1,900 policemen in Western Visayas, including Negros Occidental, have been deployed for the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1 and 2.
The 1,900 cops deployed are part of the security forces assigned to cemeteries, transport terminals, ports and other areas of convergence, a Police Regional Office-6 statement said.
“In our security coverage, we will closely coordinate and collaborate with the local government units, other law enforcement agencies, force multipliers and advocacy support groups will also be tapped to assist in the operation,” Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, said.
PRO-6 also said that the PNP will establish police assistance desks to ensure the safety and security of everyone during the entire celebration.
The deployment will include checkpoints and law enforcement operations, police visibility and other police interventions, Wanky said.*
