13 candidates for mayor file COCs; Father-son tandems in Ilog, Bago

The Bago City candidates led by    Ramon “Monet” Torres and his  son Andrew Martin Torres who filed their COCs on Thursday.*

Seven more candidates for mayor filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) in Negros Occidental on Thursday, Oct. 3, bringing the total to 13 this week, Provincial Elections Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said.

The incumbent mayors who filed their COCs for reelection on Thursday were Maria Gina M. Lizares of Sipalay City, John Paul K. Alvarez of Ilog and Daph Anthony V. Reliquias of Hinoba-an.

The four other candidates for mayor were Risa G. Barello of E.B. and Alan Clauso Martinez of Murcia, and vice mayors Ramon D. Torres of Bago City and Nehemiah Joe J. Dela Cruz of Don Salvador Benedicto.

Running for vice mayor in Ilog is John Paulo Alvarez, the son of Mayor Alvarez.

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, those who filed their COCs for mayor were Eliezer Duron Jr. in Kabankalan City, Maria Rowena Guadalupe Lopez Lizares in Talisay City, Ramil Carpio in Binalbagan and Mayor Gerry Rojas of Murcia.

The candidates who filed their COCs on Tuesday, Oct. 1, were Mayor Joedith Gallego of Silay City and Jose Luis Jalandoni of La Carlota City.*
