A Dumagueteño was killed and a policeman was injured in a shooting incident in Brgy. Piapi, Dumaguete City, early Saturday morning, August 19.
Ronald Vendiola Patrimonio, alias Wewe, of Barangay Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City, died after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds allegedly inflicted by a certain “Inting Celestial” of Bacong, Negros Oriental.
Witnesses said that the suspect followed the victim and fired five gunshots and left on a mountain bike.
PSenior Master Sgt. Rolando Jamosmos, who was in the area, responded to the incident but was shot by the suspect in the abdomen.
Jamosmos called for backup and they pursued the assailant who fled but was trapped by a high wall, the police said.
The Dumaguete police said the suspect, who is now in their custody, is a gun-for-hire.*
