
The dengue cases in Western Visayas have reached 5,871 with 23 deaths this year, which is 59 percentlower than in 2022, the Department of Health Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) reported.
The RESU report said from Jan. 1 to Nov. 11 there have been 5,871 dengue cases, compared to 14,495 during the same period in 2022.
During Nov. 5 to 11, there were 156 newly-reported dengue cases in Western Visayas, with Aklan topping the list with – 52 cases, followed by Iloilo province with 33 and Iloilo City with 23. No new dengue fatalities were recorded.
Bacolod City had 12 new cases and Negros Occidental had six.
Negros Occidental has had 925 dengue cases and seven deaths, and Bacolod City – 513 cases and three deaths from Jan. 1 to Nov. 11, the RESU reported.*
