A 45-year-old woman was killed by her husband following a domestic violence incident in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, police said.
The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, in Sitio Cabansan, Brgy. Orong, and was reported to authorities later that morning.
Police identified the victim as “MJ,” a housewife, while the suspect was identified as her husband, “Jory”, 46, a laborer.
Initial investigation by Kabankalan City Police showed the suspect allegedly arrived home under the influence of alcohol, which led to a heated argument with the victim.
A witness, the couple’s minor son, told the police the argument escalated into a physical assault, with the suspect allegedly repeatedly punching and kicking the victim in the chest.
The victim later vomited blood and lost consciousness.
She was rushed by barangay officials to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital where she was declared dead.*
