
A 36-year-old man working at a vulcanizing shop was shot dead at Mabini Street, Brgy. 38, Bacolod City, on Thursday, Sept. 4.
The police identified the victim as Randy, a resident of Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City, who sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.
Initial investigation showed that Randy was walking to work when he was followed by an unidentified suspect who shot him before fleeing on a motorcycle.
Capt. Francis Depasucat, commander of Police Station 1, said the victim may have been tailed from his home before the attack.
He added that Randy had no criminal record aside from being apprehended for curfew violation during the pandemic, but may have had a personal conflict with an individual.
Police Station 1 personnel responded and rushed the victim to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Investigators have requested CCTV footage from nearby establishments to help identify the suspect, while follow-up operations are ongoing.*
