‘Verbena’ destroys 103 houses in Bacolod, initial report shows

Tropical Depression “Verbena” destroyed 103 houses in Bacolod City, an initial report showed Wednesday, Nov. 26. 

The number is expected to increase with data from Barangay Singcang-Airport, which was among the worst flood-hit areas, still being validated. 

The initial report from the Bacolod City Communications  Office said the destroyed houses were in Taculing – 5, Granada – 2, Estefania – 5,  Mansilingan – 1,  Villamonte – 2,  Banago – 85,   Brgy 40 – 2 and  Brgy 35 – 1 

“Verbena”  caused 5,318 families, or 15,896 persons, to evacuate in Bacolod City, the Department of Social Services and Development  also reported on  Wednesday. 

It also  said  2,791 families (8,269 individuals) had returned home  by noon on Wednesday. *
