A 42-year-old vendor was shot to death at the Libertad Market in Bacolod City Wednesday night, April 20.

The unidentified gunman was riding a motorcycle when he shot and killed John Irish Chiva, a police report said Thursday.

The victim succumbed to a bullet wound on his forehead.

Maj. Leo Estopa, Police Station 6 commander, said the reason for the killing may be personal.

Chiva had previously been arrested for illegal drugs, he added.*
