A gasification technology using rice hauls for coconut oil production has recently been developed, Bacolod inventor Ramon Uy Sr. said Sunday, February 4.
Uy said he recently explained to Andres M. Tuates Jr., science research specialist II of the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization, the gasification technology developed by Engineer Joel Catalbas together with RU Foundry and Machine Shop Corporation.
Uy cited the possibility of using the technology in coconut oil processing and production.
The gasification technology could also generate electricity of from 10 kilowatts, 20kW 30 kW and more using rice hulls as fuel, he said.
It could also be used in the rural electrification program of the government, Uy added.*
