Two slain in Isabela identified, 3 other Negrenses shot dead

Two persons shot dead in Isabela town have been identified, while three others on board motorcycles were also killed in Negros Occidental, the police reported on Wednesday, March 29.

The two victims of the shooting incident at the national road in Sitio Galo, Brgy 5, Isabela, on Tuesday were identified as Randy Bangiles Macasa, 51, and Stephen Talam Limen, 39, of Brgy Sibucao, San Enrique.

The victims on board a motorcycle coming from the La Castellana-Moises Padilla Road going to Isabela, Poblacion, were shot by unidentified suspects who were traveling in the same direction, the police said.

Meanwhile, a mother and her son on board a motorcycle were shot to death by unidentified suspects in Hacienda Ledesma, Brgy Matab-ang, Talisay City, 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Killed were Sherly Bernel Española, 50, and her son, Jason, 20, residents of Hda. Ledesma.

A witness said he heard at least four gun shots.

An 8-year-old child was also injured and was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for medical treatment, the police said.

Sherly and her son had gone grocery shopping in Talisay after winning P3,000 in the Small Town Lottery and where on their way home, police investigation showed.

The suspects hid in a sugarcane field and waited for them to pass by, the police said.

The police are looking at an alleged land dispute with a neighbor as the possible motive for the killing.

Meanwhile, a barangay tanod was killed at Sitio Tibobong, Brgy Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla, 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Shot to death by unidentified suspects was Marvin Flores Caramihan, 50, of Barangay, Quintin Remo.

The victim onboard his motorcycle with his 6-year-old son was shot on different parts of his body, with a bullet to his forehead causing his instantaneous death.*
