Two found dead on Christmas Day

Two Negrenses were found dead in Hinoba-an and Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, on Christmas Day, Dec. 25

A 39-year-old person with a disability was found dead after a fire hit his house at Purok 2, Brgy. Asia, Hinoba-an, the police reported.

The victim and his stepson were having a drinking session to celebrate Christmas. At about 8:30 p.m., the stepson went home for dinner and an hour later he was informed that his stepfather died in a fire that hit his house.

The victim had an amputated leg, the police said.

The Bureau of Fire Protection placed the damage to the house at P10,000 and is still investigating the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, a 49-year-old man was found dead in Sitio Cabilocan, Brgy. Camindangan, Sipalay City, on Christmas morning.

The victim was seen lying in his backyard with two gunshot wounds on his chest and head, the police reported.

The victim was brought to the Sipalay City Health Office but was declared dead on arrival.

The suspect is yet to be identified by the police.*
