Tricycle driver stabbed dead in Sipalay,  suspect arrested

A 41-year-old tricycle driver died after he was stabbed by two suspects in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, on Monday, April 6.

Police identified the victim as Michael John Dayo, a resident of Brgy. San Jose.

Investigation showed the victim was repairing a motorcycle inside a house when he was confronted by one of the suspects, leading to an altercation.

Authorities said a second suspect later arrived, and both allegedly conspired in stabbing the victim in the abdomen.

The victim was brought to a hospital but was later declared dead.

One of the suspects, a 19-year-old carpenter, was arrested and is now under police custody.

The second suspect, a 29-year-old man, remains at large.

Police said the incident was allegedly triggered by an old grudge.
