A 31-year-old tricycle driver died after he was shot while driving along Sitio Buri, Brgy. 4, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 22.
Police identified the victim as a resident of Gregoria Ville, Brgy. 3, Kabankalan City.
The Kabankalan City Police Station said the incident happened at around 5:30 p.m. while the victim was driving his Bajaj tricycle when a motorcycle with two persons onboard pulled alongside him.
Investigation showed that without any provocation, the back rider of the motorcycle shot the victim in the head.
The suspects immediately fled the scene toward the Mabinay highway in Brgy. 1, Kabankalan City.
The victim was rushed to the Holy Mother of Mercy Hospital but was pronounced dead on Friday.*
