Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson is set to graduate magna cum laude with a Masters in Public Administration and Government degree at the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos 78th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, June 22.
During the Recognition Rites and Baccalaureate Mass on Thursday, June 20, Tongson also received four awards.
Tongson said he made it a point to obtain a Masters in Public Administration and Governance degree to expand his horizons about government service, and ensure that he is better equipped to serve Himamaylanons.
“Being elected as the city’s chief executive is not enough. As a public servant, one must constantly seek improvement,” Tongson said.
He looks forward to using his master’s degree to manage the city government better, improve programs, strengthen partnerships, and deliver quality service, Tongson added.*
