Three Bacolodnons meted life terms for sale of drugs

A Bacolod Regional Trial Court judge sentenced three Bacolodnons to life imprisonment for the sale of drugs on Wednesday, December 20.

RTC Branch 52 Judge Raymond Joseph Javier in separate decisions sentenced Joyce Buenaventura dela Gente alias Bebe, Ronnie Vicente Gador alias Bulldog, and Mark Ceasar Luzuriaga Galo alias Toto, to life imprisonment and to pay fines of P500,000 each for violation of Section 5, Article II, of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Dela Gente was apprehended for selling .198 gram of shabu to a policeman at Purok-Tambi Palad , Barangay 10, Bacolod on July 23, 2020.

On her apprehension 22.283 grams of shabu were also recovered from her possession for which she was also sentenced to another life imprisonment and to pay a fine of P400,000.

Dela Gente was also sentenced to six months and one day as minimum and two years and seven months as maximum imprisonment, and to pay a fine of P10,000 for illegal possession of dangerous drugs paraphernalia.

The judge ordered Dela Gente’s immediate transfer to the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City.

Gador was apprehended for the sale of .911 gram of shabu to a police poseur buyer at Villa Felicidad, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod, on Aug. 10, 2020.

On his arrest 4.848 grams of shabu was seized from his possession for which he was separately sentenced to 12 years and 8 months as minimum to 17 years and 8 months as maximum imprisonment and to pay a fine of P400,000.

Galo was apprehended for the sale of .016 gram of shabu to a policeman at corner Rosario-Mabini streets in Barangay 33, Bacolod, on June 8 2020.

On his arrest .041 gram of shabu was also seized from his possession for which he was sentenced to 12 years and 8 months as minimum to 17 years and 8 months as maximum imprisonment and to pay a fine of P300,000.

The judge ordered the immediate transfer of Gador and Galo to the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

He also ordered the turnover of the seized drugs to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 for destruction.*
