A19-year-old Himamaylan resident who tried stop a fight was stabbed to death 4:30 a.m. Saturday, February 12, the police reported on Monday.
The victim was identified as Mark Gollegue Libo-on of Purok 4, Brgy Nabalian, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, while the suspect is a 17-year-old male whose name was withheld for being a minor.
The victim was at a store at Purok 4 when he saw his friend being mauled by the suspect, the police said.
Libo-on tried to pacify the two but the minor stabbed him several times resulting in his death, the police said.
The suspect who was under the custody of the Himamaylan police Women and Children Protection Desk was set to be referred to the Department of Social Welfare and the Development.
In San Carlos City Alberto Tranilla Sateniaman, 47, was stabbed and killed at 6:20 p.m. Saturday.
He was allegedly stabbed by Eric Maasun Dojinog at Brgy. Prosperidad, San Carlos City Negros Occidental.
The suspect was under the influence of intoxicating liquor, creating alarm scandal and got into a heated argument with the victim, an initial police investigation showed.*
