
A Talisay City resident in Negros Occidental was sentenced to life imprisonment Thursday, February 3, for the sale of shabu to a policeman for P500 at Barangay Zone 3, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, on December 29, 2019.
Executive Judge Raymond Joseph Javier of the Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 52 found Benjie Entrina Buenafe, alias May-may, guilty beyond reasonable doubt for the sale of .488 gram of shabu and meted the penalty of 17 years and 8 months minimum to 20 years maximum imprisonment and a fine of P1 million.
He was also found guilty of possession of an additional .7585 gram shabu and meted the penalty to suffer 17 years and 8 months as minimum to 20 years maximum and to pay a fine of P400,000.
Buenafe was also found guilty of possession of dangerous drugs paraphernalia and sentenced to two years and one day as minimum to four years as maximum imprisonment and to pay a fine of P50, 000.
The judge ordered the turnover of the confiscated drugs to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 for destruction and the transfer of Buenafe to the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.*
