A Talisaynon shot and killed his wife at Purok Rosal 1, Barangay Zone 10, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 16, the police said.
Jacinto Sonido Camoñas, 47, is the suspect in the killing of Jane Condiman Camones, 40, Lt. Col. Cenon Vargas Jr., acting Talisay police chief, said in a report.
The victim’s 18-year-old daughter told the police that her father came home from work and was observed to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor.
He had a heated argument with her mother over the burial money of her grandfather who died in December 2022, the daughter said.
Minutes later, she was shocked when her father shot her mother using and improvised shotgun (sulpak) hitting her head, the daughter told the police.
Recovered from the scene of incident was one improvised shotgun with an empty shell of a 12 gauge shotgun, that will be subjected to laboratory examination.
The suspect was apprised of his constitutional rights and subsequently brought to the Talisay City Health Clinic for medical checkup and to the Talisay Police Station for proper disposition, the police report said.*
