Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel “Javi” Benitez has denied rumors his girlfriend actress Sue Ramirez plans to run for mayor of Sipalay City in Negros Occidental in the 2025 midterm elections.
Her mother Concepcion Garina is from Sipalay City.
Benitez said he does know who started the rumors that Ramirez is running for mayor.
The rumors started after Ramirez and Benitez went to Sipalay to deliver assistance to Typhoon Odette victims.

Benitez said Ramirez is busy with her acting career, which is at its peak, and has no intention of running for mayor of Sipalay.
Benitez, in support for the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival hosted the free block screening of two MMFF films at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central cinemas in Bacolod City on Thursday, Dec. 28, that was open to the public.
The two films were Kampon produced by his good friend lawyer Joji Alonso, and Penduko starring his childhood friend, Matteo Guidicelli, Benitez said.
Benitez and Ramirez will join the screening of the movie, Rewind, at Cinema 3 of Ayala Malls Capitol Central at 7:25 p.m. Friday.
This screening has a guest list, Benitez said.
