Student robbed, stabbed

A senior high school student was robbed and stabbed twice by an unidentified suspect in Sitio Mambato Proper, Brgy. To-oy, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, during All Souls’ Day, November 2.

The 18-year-old grade 12 student, whose name was withheld by the police, was robbed and stabbed on the roadside while he was playing a game on his phone.

A man approached him to ask where the way to the barangay proper was, and a few minutes later returned and hit the teenager on the head with a bottle of beer and forcibly took his phone, the police reported.

The victim resisted but the suspect drew a knife and stabbed him twice on his back.

The suspect fled after the incident while the victim was brought to Gov. Valeriano Gatuslao Memorial District Hospital and was later referred to a hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment.*
