Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said the opening of the 27th branch of membership shopping enterprise S&R in Bacolod City on Monday, April 8, will create more jobs and boost the local economy.

S&R will create 212 new jobs in Bacolod, he said.

We are happy that Bacolod residents will have more choices on where to shop, and will not have to go to S&R in Iloilo anymore, he said.

The entry of S&R shows that Bacolod is on its way to becoming a super city, he also said.

Its opening is also one way of bringing back Bacolodnons working elsewhere, Benitez said.

“I heard S&R will give its employees from Bacolod the opportunity to return here and work, and some may even be promoted,” he added.

Benitez said that with the opening of S&R it will boost consumer consumption, one of the city’s major economic drivers, with job opportunities growing.

S&R President Anthony Sy thanked Mayor Benitez for the privilege to be part of the city that values pro-business and community service.

“This momentous occasion not only signifies the expansion of our business but also underscores the unwavering support and collaboration that fueled our success,” Sy said.

The opening of S&R Bacolod was also attended by PureGold Price Club Chairman Susan Co, Cosco Venture Capital Chairman Lucio Co, PureGold Price Club President Vincent Co, BREDCO President John Alonte, BREDCO Directors Willy Au and Johnny Uy, Star Key Venture Corp. President Amado Uy, and the Bacolod city councilors.*
