Mayor Mayette Javellana, along with Social Security System (SSS) officials, led the launching of the SSS Spoke Hub at the SSS E-Center at the Barangay Ma-ao Auditorium, Bago City, Tuesday afternoon, September 15.
Lodged within the Barangay Ma-ao Auditorium, the SSS Spoke Hub is now open and ready to serve members, especially those from the upper barangays of Bago City, a press release said.
Open every second Monday of the month, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., it offers various services including updating of contact information, Annual Confirmation of Pensioner (ACOP), record verification, web registration on My.SSS, and password resetting.
The mayor, in her message, said it marks another meaningful step towards bringing government services closer to the people.
The mayor said the launching of the SSS Spoke Hub may seem like the opening of another service point, but for the city government, it means much more.
“It means that a worker no longer has to travel far just to make an inquiry. It means that a senior citizen, a self-employed Bagonhon, or a member seeking assistance can access important SSS services closer to home. It means less time on the road, less expense, and greater convenience for our people,” she said.
SSS Visayas 1 West Division Vice President Brenda Cruz said the facility reflects the agency’s steadfast commitment to bringing social security closer to the people it serves, including the Bagonhons.
“I extend my sincere gratitude to Mayora Mayette and the city government for their invaluable support and partnership,” Cruz said, adding that “through this collaboration, the residents of Ma-ao and neighboring communities can now conveniently access SSS services without the need to travel to SSS Bago Branch saving both time and resources.”
Also present at the launching were SSS Bago Branch Acting Head Florence Esparagoza, Barangay Mailum Captain Melchor Sayco, and some residents, among others.*
