The Sangguniang Panlungsod approved the P4.4 billion budget of Bacolod City for 2025 during its regular session on Wednesday, Dec.11.
The budget was approved by a vote of nine with others SP members absent, Councilor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, Committee on Appropriations and Finance chair, said.
Sayson submitted the budget for approval after a series of hearings by his committee.
Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, in his request for SP approval of the P4.4 billion budget, pointed out that the city government has improved the delivery of basic services, boosted businesses and expanded job opportunities in its goal to become a super city.
“The city government has also enlivened tourism by pushing for traditional and creative economies, and introduced bigger and bolder development projects – all of which converge to our central goal of providing quality local governance to the Bacolodnons”, Benitez said.
“With your renewed enthusiasm and continued commitment, the City of Bacolod is ready to embark on what’s ahead and to make what has been good even better,” Benitez told the SP members.*
