Rotary Club of Bacolod celebrates 89th Charter Anniversary, inducts new officers

The Rotary Club of Bacolod, the fourth longest-serving Rotary club in the Philippines, held its 89th charter anniversary  and induction of officers  at O’ Hotel in Bacolod City, recently.

Esperanza Melgar, Acting Regional Director for the Negros Island Region – Department of Trade and Industry, was the keynote speaker.

Leading the club for Rotary Year 2026–2027 is President Edlyn Agraviador, who received the leadership mantle from Immediate Past President Amelyn Bravo.

 Agraviador’s vision is focused on building upon the incredible legacy of the leaders who came before him, while continually finding innovative ways to expand the club’s reach and overall community impact, a press release from the club said Thursday, June 25.

 Agraviador and the rest of the incoming leadership lineup were  inducted by Past District Governor Ramon Cua Locsin of the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo, and witnessed by District Governor Victor Federico Acepcion.

 The other officers inducted into service were Vice President and President-Elect for RY 2027–2028 Jason Tupas, Secretary Pauline de Leon, Assistant Secretary Hana Isabella de Guzman, Treasurer Juliana Louise Llaguno, and Assistant Treasurer Bea Bern Gilbor.

The strategic board and committee directors include Director for Club Administration Dexter Telis, Director for Membership Faye Ramos Geruldo, Director for Public Image Charles Dino, Director for Service Project Samuel John Solon, Director for New Generation Therese Emily Cuaycong, and Director for Rotary Foundation Edgar Sy.

Assisting them in their roles are Assistant Director for Service Projects Jedrick Go, Assistant Director for Public Image Miguel Brito, Assistant Director for New Generation Fraulien Ramos, Assistant Director for Membership Christine Moraca, and Assistant Director for Administration PND Jet Gabriel Pili.

Rounding out the leadership team are Sergeants-at-Arms Clyde de Guzman and Errollplen Arroyo, Parliamentarian Jesus Jonathan Avelino, Club Facilitator Leilani Alba, Auditor Chuchie Destriza, Immediate Past President Amelyn Bravo, and Club Adviser Marjorie Dino.

During the June 20 event, the Presidential Award was presented to Club Secretary Richard Paul Salem, Past President Roderick Augustus Alba, Past President Leilani Alba, Rotarian Samuel John Solon, and Past District Governor Edgar Sy.

This presentation was  followed by the pinning ceremony for the new Paul Harris Fellows, honoring Rotarian Aileen Palma, IPP Amelyn Bravo, VP and PE Jason Tupas, PP Richard Paul Salem, and Assistant Governor and incoming District Secretary PP Frederick Anthony de Leon.

The pinning was administered by Past District Governors Ma. Ester Espina, Ramon Cua Locsin, Edgar Sy, and District Governor Victor Federico Acepciony.

Capping off the evening’s program was the induction of the club’s newest members, led by “Baby Rotarians” Manuel Miguel del Castillo, Atty. Jennifer Agraviador, Fiela Angelica Pasco, Franco Tacanloy, and Ron Mailard Rosadia.

District Secretary and District Governor Nominee Designate Adrian Funtellar administered the Charging, while Assistant Governor and incoming District Secretary Frederick Anthony de Leon served as the inducting officer.*
