PRO-NIR seizes P1.9M in shabu, arrests 62 wanted persons in a week

Police in the Negros Island Region confiscated nearly P2 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested 62 wanted persons during week-long  operations from July 13 to 19.

Based on the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) weekly accomplishment report, authorities conducted 50 anti-drug operations that resulted in the arrest of 57 individuals.

Police also seized 283.59 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P1,929,012.

During the same period, PRO-NIR conducted 32 anti-illegal gambling operations that led to the arrest of 76 individuals and the confiscation of P15,359 in gambling bets.

Authorities also arrested 62 wanted persons, including 17 listed as most wanted and 45 other wanted individuals.

Meanwhile, police carried out 32 operations against loose firearms, resulting in the confiscation of 15 firearms and the surrender of 22 others.

PRO-NIR also intensified the enforcement of local ordinances, conducting 7,051 operations that recorded 6,051 violators.

Of the total violators, 2,102 were fined while 4,948 were issued warnings.*
