City Police Director Col. Joeresty Coronica on Wednesday, Sept. 4, denied the allegations that the Philippine National Police is the “biggest crime group” and that illegal drugs in Iloilo are sourced from Bacolod.
These allegations were made by the drug war poster boy Lt. Col. Jovie Espendido during the House of Representatives’ mega-panel hearing as the investigation continues on the anti-drug war operations under President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.
He claimed that PNP was used in the bloody drug war that killed 30,000 people and also alleged that Bacolod is the source of illegal drugs in Iloilo City.
Coronica said that he does not subscribe to Espendido’s claims, adding that there is no drug lab in Bacolod.
“While we can say that we are not perfect, I do not believe that PNP is the biggest crime group”, he said.
Coronica also said that the sources of the suspect shabu confiscated in the city mostly came from Luzon, Cebu, and Mindanao.
They are also continuing their monitoring on anti-illegal drug operations, he said, adding that they recently arrested individuals who are members of drug groups.*
