
The police arrested eight persons and seized more than P1 million in drugs in Bacolod City and two towns in the Negros Island Region on Friday and Saturday, October 10 and 11.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) intensified its anti-illegal drugs campaign with four consecutive buy-bust operations, leading to the arrest of six suspects and the confiscation of ₱605,880 worth of suspected shabu, on Friday, Oct. 10.
The largest seizure occurred in Brgy. 10, where operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested three suspects, including one identified as a high-value individual, and recovered about 75 grams of suspected shabu worth P510,000.
In Brgy. Granada, Police Station 5 operatives arrested a 44-year-old suspect and seized around 5 grams of shabu valued at P34,000.
In Brgy. Banago, Police Station 3 personnel apprehended a 28-year-old suspect and confiscated 5.1 grams of suspected shabu worth P34,680.
Meanwhile, in Brgy. Estefania, Police Station 4 arrested a 58-year-old suspect and seized 4 grams of suspected shabu valued at P27,200.
All confiscated evidence was turned over to the BCPO Forensic Unit for laboratory examination, while appropriate charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing in court.
The police also arrested a high-value individual and confiscated about 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at P340,000 in Hacienda Antolanga, Barangay Tinongan, Isabela, Negros Occidental on Saturday, Oct. 11.
Arrested was alias “Yokyok,” 44, jobless and a resident of Magallon Cadre, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, the police said.
The suspect is considered a big supplier of shabu in Isabela, Negros Occidental, with his source reportedly coming from Bacolod City, the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) reported.
The suspect is detained at the Isabela police station.
The police armed with a search warrant for violation of RA 9165 also arrested alias “Amado,” 44, at Kalye Pitong Gatang, Brgy. Bolocboloc, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, on Saturday.
Recovered were 5 grams of suspected marijuana valued at P600 and 3.5 grams of shabu with standard drug price of P23,800, the police reported.*
