The fifth and seventh most wanted persons in the Negros Island Region, along with two most wanted individuals at the city and municipal levels, were arrested on Wednesday, August 13, the Police Regional Office–NIR reported.

The top catch, McJhonill Alabado, 30, of Brgy. Balicotoc, Ilog, Negros Occidental, is accused of eight counts of qualified rape through sexual assault against his nieces, aged 7, 8, and 9.

He was nabbed by the Ilog police, and operatives of the 3rd Mobile Company and Regional Mobile Force Battalion by virtue of a warrant issued by the RTC Branch 61 judge of Kabankalan City, with no bail recommended.

Also arrested was the region’s seventh most wanted person, Gregorio Bulacan Jr., 44, of Brgy. I-Poblacion, Pontevedra, for service of sentence after his probation for a drug conviction was cancelled due to continued drug use.

Two other arrests were made at the city and municipal levels.

In Sagay City, Rolly Tenerife, 34, was served a warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while already in detention.

In Pulupandan, Rene Araneta, 41, was arrested for acts of lasciviousness against a minor neighbor, with bail set at P200,000.

PRO-NIR Director, PBGen Arnold Thomas C. Ibay, said the arrests show there is “no place to hide” for lawbreakers in Negros Island.

“Our police force will continue to work day and night to ensure that communities remain safe, drug-free, and conducive to progress,” he added.

Those arrested are now in police custody for proper legal disposition, the PRO-NIR report said.*
