Five individuals were arrested after authorities dismantled a suspected drug den in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City, on Monday, November 10.
Arrested were alias Stella, 30, and alias Iris, 36, both residents of Purok Kagaykay; alias Merlando, 38, of Barangay 2; alias Fred, 35, of Barangay Pahanocoy; and alias Jomel, 27, of Barangay Pasil, E.B. Magalona.
Operatives of the PDEA Regional Office–Negros Island Region, together with the Seaport Interdiction Unit, SOU NIR PNP DEG, Coast Guard Intelligence Unit Southern Negros Occidental, and Bacolod City Police Station 2, launched a buy-bust operation around 5:30 p.m. that led to the arrest of the suspects and the seizure of suspected illegal drugs.
Authorities recovered 13 sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 18 grams, along with buy-bust money, glass tooters, disposable lighters, a cellphone, a coin purse, and ₱190 believed to be drug proceeds.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspects.*
