PDEA dismantles Bacolod drug den, apprehends five high-value targets

Authorities dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested five high-value targets (HVTs) during a joint anti-drug operation in Brgy. 12, Bacolod City, on Tuesday afternoon, March 3.

Authorities identified the arrested suspects as alias “Sadam,” 34, and “Mark,” 43, of Brgy. 12, “Cris,” 35, of Brgy. Handumanan, and “Ariel,” 52, of Brgy. Bata, all in Bacolod City, and alias “Ryan,” 44, of Brgy. Cansilayan, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

The operation was carried out at around 2:14 p.m. through a buy-bust operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office – Negros Island Region (RO-NIR) Regional Special Enforcement Team.

The police said the operation resulted in the successful dismantling of the suspected drug den.

Confiscated from the suspects were nine heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing around 13 grams, with an estimated street value of about P88,400 based on the standard drug price of P6,800 per gram.

The arrested suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
