P700K worth of shabu seized in Negros Island

The PDEA-NIR arrests alias “Yummie”, 38, in Brgy. Salvacion, Murcia, Negros Occidental.*

Law enforcers seized more than P700,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested two high-value drug personalities in buy-bust operations in Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 22 and 23.

In Sibulan, Negros Oriental, operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office arrested a high-value individual during a buy-bust operation at Purok 3, Brgy. Calabnugan at around 3:26 p.m. on Thursday.

Police said the operation, conducted with the support of the Sibulan Municipal Police Station, resulted in the confiscation of about 54 grams of suspected shabu worth P369,920, along with the buy-bust money and other non-drug evidence.

Meanwhile, in Murcia, Negros Occidental, operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Negros Island Region arrested another high-value target during a buy-bust operation at Barangay Salvacion at around 12:50 p.m. Friday.

Authorities identified the suspect as alias “Yummie,” 38, of Barangay Salvacion.

Seized from the suspect were 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 51 grams worth P346,800.

Police said charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspects.*
