The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 seized 6,080 grams of suspected shabu valued at P41.3 million in Purok Malipayon, Brgy 35, Bacolod City, 8:12 p.m. Tuesday, August 13.

It is the biggest single drug catch in Western Visayas this year, PCapt. Glenn Soliman, RPDEU-6 chief, said.

It is also the biggest single drug haul in Bacolod’s history based on available records, Col. Joeresty Coronica, Bacolod police director, said.

The shabu worth P41,344,000 was intended for sale in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental and Iloilo, Soliman said.

Arrested was high value drug target John Philip Mawa Dellomo, alias “Tol”, 28, who will be charged for violation of sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for sale and possession of illegal drugs, Soliman said.

His father Lauro Ceralvo Dellomo,52, and brother Brgy 35 chief tanod Ronel Mawa Dellomo, 36, were also arrested for obstruction of justice, Soliman said.

He said while the RPDEU 6 and Bacolod policemen were headed towards the house of Dellomo his father and brother tried to prevent them from passing, and with other relatives started to shout.

They also tried to maul and disarm a policeman, Soliman said.

There were a lot of members of the target’s family trying to prevent the entry of the law enforcers, he added.

Soliman said they had conducted surveillance operations following intelligence information that John Philip Mawa Dellomo was engaged in the sale of drugs.

Soliman said following their surveillance operations their confidential agent ordered 50 grams of shabu worth P60,000 from Dellomo.

Dellomo was arrested when he handed the 50 grams of shabu in exchange for the P60,000 buy bust money on Tuesday night, Soliman said.

Recovered from Dellomo were 6,080 grams of shabu, the P60, 000 buy bust money, a cellular phone and a digital weighing scale.

Dellomo disclosed that while he was jailed for a robbery holdup case in Bacolod for about two years he met a drug personality who became his drug operations partner, Soliman said.

The robbery case was dismissed that led Dellomo’s release from jail, Soliman said.

The seized shabu came from the National Capital Region and was transported by cargo truck that arrived in Bacolod on a roll-on-roll off vessel, Soliman said.

Dellomo will be charged for violation for sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for sale and possession of illegal drugs, he added.

Brig. Gen. Jack L Wanky, PNP regional director, said the drug operation was the product of the policemen’s dedication and perseverance in the campaign against illegal drugs.

He directed the RPDEU 6 to exert effort to determine if the suspect has cohorts. “If there is and if evidence warrant, subject them to follow-up police operations to hold them accountable of their illegal acts,” he added*
