P251K in shabu, pistol seized in San Carlos buy-bust

Police arrested a 31-year-old man and seized P251,192 worth of suspected shabu and a firearm during a buy-bust operation in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, on Friday evening, June 26.

The suspect was identified as alias “Maymay,” a resident of Sitio Alingaob, Brgy. Quezon.

Personnel of the San Carlos City Police Station conducted the operation at around 6:39 p.m.

Police said the suspect  sold one sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer in exchange for P500.

Authorities recovered eight sachets containing about 36.94 grams of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item.

Also seized were a .45 caliber pistol, one magazine, two rounds of live ammunition, a black sling bag, and the buy-bust money.

The seized suspected drugs will be submitted to the Negros Occidental Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.

The suspect and the non-drug evidence are under the custody of the San Carlos City Police Station.

Police are preparing complaints for violations of Republic Act 9165 – the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591 – the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.*
