P2.03M worth of shabu seized in weeklong NegOcc operations

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office seized an estimated P2.03 million worth of suspected shabu in a series of anti-illegal drug operations from Jan. 12 to 18.

Police records showed that 21 anti-drug operations were carried out during the period, resulting in the arrest of 28 individuals and the confiscation of about 305.1 grams of suspected shabu.

The police also arrested 26 wanted persons during the same week, including seven most wanted individuals and 19 other wanted persons through 26 separate operations.

Authorities also conducted three anti-illegal gambling operations that led to the arrest of seven individuals and the seizure of P5,105 in bet money.

In the campaign against loose firearms, the police carried out three operations that resulted in the arrest of seven individuals and the confiscation of four firearms, while two other firearms were voluntarily surrendered.

The police also intensified coastal law enforcement, conducting five illegal fishing operations that led to the arrest of 13 individuals and the seizure of fish and fishing paraphernalia valued at P156,900.*
