Police seized around P136,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Matab-ang, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, late Wednesday night, Feb. 4.
Authorities identified the suspect as alias “Ral,” 40, a construction worker and resident of Brgy. Zone 10, Talisay City, who was arrested at around 11:27 p.m. in Hacienda Pa-et, Brgy. Matab-ang.
Police said operatives of the Talisay City Police Station conducted the operation after receiving information from a confidential informant regarding the suspect’s alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.
Investigators said the arrest was conducted after the suspect allegedly handed a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for marked money.
Recovered from the suspect were seven heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing around 20 grams, a coin purse, and a P500 bill used as buy-bust money.
The inventory of seized items was documented on site using body-worn cameras.
The confiscated drug evidence was submitted to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office forensic unit for laboratory examination.
The suspect remains under the custody of the Talisay City Police Station for proper legal disposition as the investigation continues.*
