The Police Regional Office-6 seized about P13.3 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested 62 individuals in their week-long anti-illegal drug operations.
PRO-6 said that from Sept. 1 to 7, the police seized about 1.95 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated street drug price of P13.3 million and eight grams of marijuana worth P960 during 45 anti-illegal drug operations in Western Visayas.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office had the biggest drug haul at P7.3M followed by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-6 with P2.8M, and Iloilo PPO with P1M.
PRO-6 records also showed that of the 62 persons arrested, 22 came from NOCPPO, 15 from the Iloilo City Police Office, 12 from Bacolod CPO, 5 from RPDEU-6, 3 each from the Iloilo and Aklan PPOs, and 1 each from Capiz and Antique.
The suspects are now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, PRO-6 said.*
