Barangay Quintin Remo in Moises Padilla town will get P11 million worth of infrastructure projects.
The soon to be built 90-meter hanging footbridge connecting Hacienda Jocson in Barangay 4 to Sitio Lemoncito in Barangay Quintin Remo will cost P5 million and will be funded by the national government, while the 50-meter overflow with 130 meters of concrete road will cost the local government P6 million.
Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo, along with local officials, led the groundbreaking recently.
She said the hanging footbridge was her campaign promise to the residents of Sitio Lemoncito who requested it in the last election.
Residents of Sitio Lemoncito will finally have a hanging footbridge after several years since they are crossing the river with a boat or rope which is dangerous when the water level rises.
Meanwhile, Ma. Althea Nogra, Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region 6 officer-in-charge, recently went to Moises Padilla to validate the almost P300 million infrastructure projects requested by the mayor from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (NDRRMO).
They inspected the proposed rehabilitation of slope protection and eroded road at Barangay 1 overflow going to Barangay Inolingan amounting to P96.2 million, the proposed rehabilitation of roads from Barangay Crossing Magallon to Barangay 1 which will cost P70.5 million, the proposed P69.8 million rehabilitation of the flood control structure at Barangay 1 and Barangay 3, and the P48.5 million rehabilitation/improvement of spillway and slope protection from Barangay Macagahay to Barangay Montilla.
Yulo said the proposed projects are part of the local government’s move in preventing and mitigating disaster impacts that affect the residents, especially during typhoons and heavy rains.*
