At least P10.2 million worth of suspected illegal drugs were seized from two residents during a buy-bust operation at Barangay Guadalupe in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Wednesday, January 12.

Nabbed was Joel Rizardo, 24, the subject of the operation, of Greenville Bato, Barangay Rizal, while his partner, Jean Compacion, was able to evade arrest.

Rizardo is said to be the top one in the priority target list of the San Carlos City Police Station.

The operation led to the recovery of 1.5 kilos of suspected shabu, P3,500 buy-bust money, and P3,600 cash proceeds.

The joint operation was conducted by San Carlos City policemen, and operatives of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 6.

Newly-installed provincial police director Col. Leo Pamittan commended his troops for the successful intelligence-driven operation.

“This is one commendable accomplishment of our operatives and a proper welcome for my first week of being NOCPPO provincial director,” he said.*
