OVY claim that documents falsified ridiculous – Lopez

The Deeds of Extrajudicial Settlement (EJS) documents of the estate of Ricardo B. Yanson were not falsified, the division of the family property was decided on even before he died, Celina Yanson Lopez, said late Friday night, January 5.

Her mother Olivia V. Yanson (OVY), matriarch of the biggest bus company in the Philippines, refiled a complaint before the Regional Trial Court in Bacolod City, Friday morning, seeking the nullification of the EJS, citing the use of alleged falsified documents by her four children.

OVY filed the complaint against Lopez and Roy, Emily and Ricardo Yanson, also known as the Yanson 4, to ask the court to enjoin them from using the EJS documents to make it appear that she had relinquished her rights to the bulk of the properties, which includes her shares of stock in all of the corporations of the Yanson group, her lawyer Norman Golez said.

Golez said, on Sunday, that they have always questioned the validity of the EJS documents.

Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 42 Judge Maria Lina Gonzaga in October last year had dismissed the civil case filed by OVY against the Yanson 4 seeking the EJS annulment, Lopez said.

In the first case there was no mention of falsified documents, how come they did not question them before? Lopez asked.

To claim that the documents were falsified as a last recourse is ridiculous, Lopez said.

She said the division of the family property among the six Yanson siblings was agreed on even before her father died.

“Our shares of stock was long distributed by our parents to us, our father was still alive then”, she said.

The family as early as 2012 held succession planning retreats and they all signed a Yanson family Constitution and shareholders agreement before their father died, Lopez said.

Lopez said it is sad that someone is using their mother to go against the Y4 and it is not true that they have not tried to reach out to OVY.

Her own children tried to visit their grandmother last Christmas but they were not allowed in by the cordon sanitaire around her, Lopez said.

“I will not forgive them because what they did to me is very serious, they should remember that I am their mother, they would not be in this world without me”, OVY said of her four children on Friday.

She also said “I will not speak to them because my trust in them has been lost…I just want to get my share to our conjugal property, because I am the wife of Mr. Ricardo Yanson.”

Lopez in response said: “It is so sad…How can she be so bitter and so hard to her children and grandchildren?”*
