Sales on the first day of the 15th Negros Island Organic Farmers Festival at the Capitol grounds in Bacolod City hit P216,755, Provincial Agriculturist Edmundo Raul Causing said Thursday, November 24.
The festival opened on Wednesday and will run until Saturday, November 26.
Meanwhile, outstanding organic practitioners received certificates and cash prizes from Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Board Member Andrew Montelibano, and Causing during the festival’s Governor’s Night, on Wednesday.
Butz Buerom of Bago City was Best Organic Farmer Practitioner, Temie Medoranda of Himamaylan City – Best Organic Young Farmer and Elpedio Dayuday Jr. of San Carlos City – Best Organic Focal Person.*
