NVC volunteers travel over floodwaters to deliver aid

The Negrense Volunteers for Change has so far ferried close to half a million Mingo meals to distant typhoon “Rolly” and “Ulysses” hit areas, oftentimes by banca over floodwaters.

On Wednesday, November 25, another delivery of Mingo meals was made over the still flooded plains of Baao, Camarines Sur in the Bicol Region to displaced residents, NVC president Millie Kilayko said.

The NVC has so far delivered 459,800, Kilayko said.

NVC has delivered 157,000 meals to Cagayan, 136,500 to Bicol, 61,000 to the National Capital Region, 60,000 to Isabela, and 20,000 to Bulacan, she added.

A Mingo Meal is an instant nutritious complementary food made of ingredients naturally grown by small farmers and manufactured by NVC, Kilayko said.*
