NPA owns killing of MPadilla tanod

The New People’s Army (NPA) claimed responsibility on Thursday, March 30, for killing a barangay tanod at Sitio Tibobong, Brgy Quintin Remo in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.

Killed was Marvin Flores Caramihan, 50, who was riding on his motorcycle with his 6-year-old son when he was waylaid and shot on different parts of his body, including on his forehead that caused his instantaneous death, on Tuesday night, the police said earlier.

Ka JB Regalado, NPA Leonardo Panaligan Command spokesperson, said they meted the death penalty on Caramihan whom he tagged as an alleged intelligence asset of the Philippine Army’s 62nd Infantry Battalion.

Regalado alleged that Caramihan was part of a group that killed a Quintin Remo resident and had used the name of the NPA for extortion activities.

Caramihan also served as a guide in a 62nd IB raid that caused the death of two NPA members in November 2022, Regalado alleged.*
