The Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO) announced that power was fully restored to EB Magalona, Manapla and Victorias City at 10:59 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18.
“We have achieved 100 percent power restoration”, it said in a statement.
NONECO installed a 10 MegaVolt Amperes (MVA) power transformer at its Victorias substation to replace a 15MVA transformer that broke down on Tuesday, its general manager Wilbe Bilbao said.
The damage to the 15 MVA power transformer at the Victorias substation had plunged 30,000 households into darkness in EB Magalona, Victorias and portions of Manapla at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday but 90 percent of the power had been restored as of Wednesday afternoon, Bilbao had said.
Most of the remaining areas whose power was fully restored Friday were in remote locations, he said.*
