NOCPPO nabs most drug suspects in WV

The Police Regional Office-6 reported that the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) cops arrested 26 individuals in their weeklong anti-illegal drug operations from Aug. 1 to 7, the highest among the police units in Western Visayas.

Records showed that PRO-6 arrested 70 individuals and seized 759 grams of suspected shabu worth P5.1 million in their weeklong operations.

NOCPPO recorded the highest number of arrests with 26, followed by Iloilo City with 12 arrests, Iloilo PPO with 8, Guimaras with 7, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-6 with 4, and Capiz PPO and Bacolod CPO with 3 each.

Meanwhile, BPCO reported that they arrested four more individuals from four anti-illegal drug operations on Aug. 9.

This resulted in the confiscation of suspected shabu weighing 79.5 grams with an estimated street drug price of P540,600.

The BCPO said, in a press statement, that they have already filed charges against the suspects for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
