NOCECO announces power rate cut for July

The Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NOCECO) announced a slight decrease in residential electricity rates for July.

NOCECO power rates have dropped by P0.0774 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), lowering the residential rate from P11.4110/kWh in June to P11.3336/kWh this month, a press release from the cooperative said Tuesday, July 15.

The electric provider said the decrease was mainly due to a general reduction in generation charges from their main power suppliers.

These lower rates pulled the blended generation charge down to P5.7350/kWh, or P0.1315/kWh decrease compared to last month.
While the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) posted a slight increase of P0.1875/kWh, NOCECO said.

NOCECO said that fluctuations in generation and transmission rates greatly impact monthly bills and encouraged consumers to manage their electricity use wisely.*
